I just read
this post here at
Linaloo, and could totally relate to feeling much excitement when starting a new project, despite having a myriad of unfinished projects on the go (
example,
example,
example).

I have to admit that I also start a new project as a reward for finishing something (in this case, the
Charming bag I posted yesterday for the
BTRS Swap).

I started this Easy Lap Quilt from
Bend The Rules Sewing last night, knowing it would be a quick and easy 'fix'. I've used some
Prints Charming fabric from the Follow your Imagination range (including some stripes, which aren't pictured), and some beautiful Kona cotton solids. Love, love, love the Kona solids - such quality! But oh, so pricey here in Australia :(
Instead of the simple, straight machine quilting, I've decided to try out free motion quilting. Good practice, and all.

I love the colours you have used, It looks fantastic.
Its lovely. I really like your free motion quilting. I'd love to try some of that, but I don't think mine would turn out as well as that!
Ah yes, the quick fix is always a welcome distraction. Free motion quilting's lookin' good!
How exactly do you do the free motion quilting? I'd love to try it if it's possible on my machine...I assume you need a special foot?
Looks BEAUTIFUL! I must try some things from that book. Gorgeous.
