Fabulous finds

The quilt store gods were smiling down on me today - I found some lovely hard to find fabrics in a local quilt store!

Glorious Colour

My drought-breaking purchase of Kaffe Fassett stripes and shot cottons arrived today.
They'll be sent of in late June to my fellow Bee Addicted 3 bees with some charcoal or coal Kona cotton.

Spring Cleaning

The postie must have known how much spring cleaning I've done today - he brought me a lovely parcel with this brown and blue bird fabric (Nature-ology - birds brown). It coordinates beautifully with my other browns and blues that arrived recently.
I had thought I would use it as a quilt back, but now that I've seen it I think I need a to make a skirt out of it.
Back to the cleaning now - I've already washed the walls, dusted the picture rails, de-moulded the bathroom and cleaned the oven (not to mention all the loads of washing I've done). Next on the list is a big clean out of the fridge.

Sunday Stash...Yarn

And some highlights from the Australian Sheep and Wool Show in Bendigo yesterday.

I could have taken both these Alpacas home.
Ollie would have taken this lamb home!

Sunday Stash...on a Monday (again!!)

The postie delivered this gorgeous parcel of fat quarters today, to my absolute delight! I originally found this fabric by searching for Spoonflower on Etsy. I scrolled through all the choices til I found this.

Oh my....

It's designed by the very talented (and generous) Laurie of Scarlet Fig. Please have a look at her etsy store for more delights.
I also picked up this sweet bird-in-a-cage fabric today from Cutting Edge Fabrics in Malvern. Pricey yet delicious.
Thanks again Tam for hosting!

Sunday Stash...Vintage

I have started up a bit of a collection of vintage sheets, pillow cases and curtains. The yellow flowers are on a pair of curtains, the purple is a pillowcase.

Thank you to Tamara for hosting!

Sunday Stash - ballooning

I've been a terribly slack stasher so far this year. Hopefully this will make up for it!
This is a vintage pillowcase I picked up a couple of weeks ago from an Op Shop in Clayton (Vic). I have no plans for it yet, but I'm sure something will come up. Your suggestions are welcome!

Thanks to Tamara for continuing to host - go to her blog if you'd like to join in, or just to have a nosy at what people have in their stash (worth the look!).

Amitie Fabrics

Remember this fabric I received in the Amitie blog VIP mail-out? I finally cut into it to make this sweet little elephant from More Softies.
The elephant is a gift for a very sweet 12 year old. She was suitably impressed with both the elephant, and the chocolate mud cake covered in a delicious ganache that I also made for her!
Speaking of the Amitie blog VIP mail-out, this fabric arrived this week from Amitie. It's a delightfully bright collection of good sized scraps. I feel the need to make up a lap sized quilt with it, but that would involve an investment of more fabric....
I'm loving the colourful stripes and the red leafy one on top.

Sunday Stash - birch forest

This is one of my all-time fave prints, so I was super excited to find Lara has done it in red on a natural coloured base cloth. Some of it is destined to become part of a skirt for me, the rest...who knows.

Sunday Stash

Sorry, not the best picture, but I've only just remembered that it's Sunday, so cheated a little and just found a photo I'd taken months ago.
I bought this Saffron Craig Owls and Fairy Trees panel ages ago, and cut out one of the owls in a tree to put in a white frame.

Sunday Stash - On The Farm

The top fabric was a remnant from Big W, the second a Japanese print bought from Etsy ages ago. I love the bottom one so much, I'd love to make myself some clothing from it, but don't have nearly enough.

Thanks Tamara for hosting :)

Goodies

These goodies arrived this week.

The first is the November mail-out from Amitie blog VIP. It's actually the perfect colourway to add to a gift I'm making today for mum for Christmas - so perfect timing!
Pink and Celery Geometric by Joel Dewberry, decorator weight.

The second is some ribbon I bought at Retrosaria after seeing a post a Loobylu last week. I figured that since I didn't know how the Aussie dollar compared to the Euro before the financial crisis, I wouldn't mind paying what I did for the ribbon! My fave is the top one, Little Red Riding Hood.
Sorry for the crappy photos, but I really can't be bothered doing anything about it in this heat! I can't believe it got to 35 degrees!!!

More Noro!

These arrived today, some Noro Silk Garden and Nora Kureyon, earmarked for my Granny Square rug.
Almost broke the bank, but it'll keep me busy for a while, and will be well worth it when I'm snuggling on the couch under a gorgeous handmade crochet rug!
